Bridgerton Themed Brunch to Support Lupus Awareness in The Bahamas

British Colonial Nassau Hosts Charity Brunch for Lupus 242

British Colonial Nassau will host a Bridgerton themed charity brunch on Sunday, May 24, in partnership with the Bahamian nonprofit organization Lupus 242. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. and aims to raise awareness and support for people living with lupus across The Bahamas.

Set against the historic backdrop of British Colonial Nassau, the brunch combines a Regency era theme with a focus on community support. Guests are encouraged to wear pastel attire and enjoy an afternoon inspired by the popular Bridgerton series, while contributing to an important cause through raffle participation and donations.

Organizers say the event is designed to shine a light on the daily realities faced by Bahamians living with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. For many families, treatment and ongoing care can place a heavy financial burden on households.

Founded in 2012, Lupus 242 has spent more than a decade providing advocacy, education, and direct support for people affected by the disease. The organization continues to work toward greater public understanding of lupus, while also helping members access medication, medical supplies, and other basic care needs.

All proceeds from the brunch raffle will go directly to Lupus 242 to assist individuals and families throughout the country. Organizers hope the event will not only raise funds, but also encourage more open conversations about lupus and the importance of early support and awareness.
