Harbour Island is more than just stunning pink sand beaches, beautiful architecture, amazing restaurants, and cocktails with golden sunsets as the backdrop. While it has all of those things in abundance, Harbour Island, at its core, is a family island with a strong sense of community and culture.

All week long, we’ll be sharing our top spots, suggestions, and things to see, do, and experience while on the island. Also, check out our TikTok page for Briland video highlights, and be on the lookout for our Harbour Island Guide, which is COMING SOON.

But first up, let’s focus on how to get to Harbour Island. VIDEO HIGHLIGHT

You can get to Harbour Island from Nassau via air or sea. For this trip, we took a leisurely boat ride on Bahamas Fast Ferries’ Bo Hengy III. They depart from Potter's Cay and arrive in Harbour Island in approximately three hours.

Once you arrive at the Fast Ferries terminal, you’ll need to check in at the ticket office with your ID, get your boarding pass, and check your bags. Boarding begins an hour before departure.

They offer indoor, air-conditioned seating or open-air seating.

Outdoor seating is pet-friendly, as long as pets are kept in a kennel or on a leash. The fare for small pets is $19, and larger pets are $34.

Onboard, they sell sandwiches, light snacks, and soft drinks. Interior table seating can also be reserved ahead of time or during the sailing (if available) for a small fee.

Alternatively, you can take a short flight into North Eleuthera, get a taxi ride to Three Island Dock, and then take a very short water taxi ride into Harbour Island.

Bahamas Fast Ferries also travels to the neighboring Spanish Wells.

The ferry docks at the Government Dock upon arrival in Harbour Island. You collect your bags, and then you're on your way to starting your Briland Springcation.

The island is small, so you can get around via golf cart. While there are rentals available at the dock upon arrival, it's recommended to book ahead of time—especially during peak travel times—to ensure availability.
