Poinciana Public Relations will host its second annual blood drive on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 12-3 pm at the Princess Margaret Hospital’s Blood Bank, located on 1st Terrace, Collins Avenue. The event is a continued partnership between Poinciana Public Relations, the Public Hospitals Authority, and the Princess Margaret Hospital, following the success of last year’s inaugural drive, which collected 18 pints of blood.

The blood drive aims to raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donations and supports the PMH Blood Bank’s ongoing efforts to meet patient needs across The Bahamas. Organizers encourage healthy adults to take part and remind potential donors that a single pint of blood can help save up to three lives.

“Last year’s event showed the power of community support,” said Nikia Wells, Managing Director of Poinciana Public Relations. “We are proud to continue this partnership and look forward to welcoming both returning and first-time donors to give the gift of life again this year.”

Returning sponsors include TD Cakes and The Swimming Pugs, with Dunkin’ Donuts once again providing refreshments for all participants. Donors will also have a chance to win prizes, including gift certificates and other giveaways throughout the event.

Wells shared that ongoing collaboration with local businesses plays an important role in keeping community blood drives active and impactful. “It’s heartening to see our sponsors return to support this cause. Every contribution helps remind people how vital blood donations are to saving lives,” she said.

The PMH Blood Bank remains open for donations beyond the event and operates Monday through Saturday at its location on 1st Terrace, off Collins Avenue. Organizers hope that this second drive will continue to inspire more Bahamians to become regular donors and strengthen the hospital’s blood supply year-round.
