Our Japan Travel Guide tailored for Bahamian travelers is COMING SOON, but until then the Bahamas Dinner Series is back with a feature that offers a slice of Japan without ever leaving Nassau.

Nestled within the British Colonial Hotel on Bay Street, Sakana Sushi & Noodle Bar is a dining experience that transports guests straight to a traditional Japanese sushi counter.

Sakana’s setting is deliberately intimate, with a limited number of seats at the counter to recreate the charm and authenticity of sushi bars found throughout Japan. The chefs behind the counter bring decades of experience from some of the island’s most respected Japanese restaurants, ensuring that each dish reflects both precision and flavor. For those not seated at the counter, the restaurant has thoughtfully extended its offerings, allowing diners at other British Colonial restaurants to order directly from the Sakana menu.

The menu features an enticing range of Japanese favorites, from delicate sushi and sashimi to steaming bowls of ramen and hearty yakisoba noodle dishes. Each dish is enhanced by the sauces crafted in-house by the Sakana team, a detail that underscores their dedication to quality and authenticity.
