CARIBBEAN THREADS | The Art of Regeneration with Bahamian Artist Lynn Parotti
For Bahamian artist Lynn Parotti, nature, resilience and regeneration have been recurring themes throughout more than 30 years of artistic exploration.
Splitting her time between The Bahamas and London, Parotti draws inspiration from the natural world, particularly the remarkable ability of plants to adapt, diversify and survive despite the environmental challenges facing our planet.
During the FUZE Art Fair, held as part of the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival, Parotti showcased a collection of paintings extending from her previous solo exhibition at The Current, The Rewilding of Aqua Botanica.
Her work explores everything from gardening and water to the vital role mangroves play in protecting coastlines and providing nurseries for marine life.
"That's a big theme in my work and has been forever," she shared, reflecting on the resilience of nature and its ability to regenerate.
Through our Caribbean Threads series, Poinciana Magazine continues to spotlight the Caribbean chefs and artists whose creativity, cultural perspectives and personal stories are helping to shape conversations through food and art.
