Celebrating 25 Years of DUNE: Chef Jean-Georges Returns to The Ocean Club for an Exclusive Dinner Experience

On February 20, 2025, The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, will host an evening with legendary chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten as part of the celebration for the 25th anniversary of DUNE by Jean-Georges. Since its opening in 2000, DUNE has offered a fusion of global culinary influences and island flavors. Now, after a quarter-century of success, Chef Vongerichten returns to the island for a special four-course dinner that promises to be a feast for the senses.


DUNE's stunning turquoise ocean views have made it a beloved dining destination for both Bahamians and visitors. Chef Jean-Georges, whose culinary career has spanned the globe, will personally guide guests through an exclusive dining experience, sharing his signature dishes as well as favourites from the DUNE menu. 


Chef Vongerichten expressed his excitement about the anniversary, reflecting on the restaurant’s long-standing success. "Twenty-five years—a quarter-century of DUNE—wow! We’re beyond excited to return to the beautiful Bahamas and celebrate this milestone with our incredible team," he shared. "The friendships we’ve built with our purveyors and partners, the talent we’ve nurtured, and the ingredients we’ve explored and shared with our guests—it’s all been a labour of love. We’ve built such a strong community and we’re deeply humbled by the unwavering support from everyone over the years. Here’s to 25 more years to come!"


This special dinner will feature a curated menu that showcases some of Chef Jean-Georges' favorite dishes. Highlights of the menu include Hamachi Sashimi with avocado and soy yuzu dressing, Black Truffle and Fontina Cheese Pizza, Dover Sole Meunier, and Lamb Chops with Black Pepper Glaze. The evening will conclude with decadent desserts, including a Caribbean Coconut Tart with pineapple sorbet and a Tropical Fruit Vacherin, Macadamia and Hibiscus Sorbets.


The intimate dinner will be served family-style, allowing guests to enjoy an array of dishes in a communal setting that fosters conversation and connection. With a carefully selected wine pairing and signature cocktails to complement the meal, the evening promises to be a true celebration of fine food and the artistry behind it.

John Conway, General Manager of The Ocean Club, emphasized the significance of the event. "It’s amazing that DUNE is celebrating 25 years of delivering an extraordinary dining experience," he said. "When Chef Jean-Georges himself comes to The Ocean Club, it’s always an exciting time for our guests. He is a legend in the culinary industry, a true talent, and an inspiration to our culinary team."


Tarek Cheneir, Director of Food and Beverage for The Ocean Club, also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event. "An evening with Jean-Georges is always an event not-to-be-missed," he noted.


Weather permitting, the dinner will take place on the bluff right outside DUNE, offering guests the perfect setting with a breathtaking view of the ocean as they enjoy their meal.
