For art lovers in Grand Bahama, The Lobby, a satellite space by the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) at the Pelican Bay Resort, offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of Bahamian art. The exhibition, Introduction to the National Collection, is on view until July 2025, providing ample time for residents and visitors alike to explore works from the National Collection, which showcases the diverse talents of Bahamian artists.

The National Collection, established in 2003, highlights Bahamian artistry, capturing themes of nationhood and identity. It features works that reflect the responses of Bahamians to their environment and culture, offering a powerful insight into the country’s evolving sense of self. As poet Patricia Glinton-Meicholas notes, Bahamian artists have played a key role in redefining the country’s ethos, and the NAGB serves as an important institution in nurturing this artistic process.

The Lobby is open daily from 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m.. The exhibition is also free to the public, making it accessible to everyone.
