GB Seafood, Culture & History Take Center Stage at West End Bootleggers & Seafood Festival

Western Grand Bahama is gearing up for the third annual West End Bootleggers & Seafood Festival on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at the Artis Neely Grounds.
Hosted by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, the festival celebrates West End’s rich fishing heritage and its fascinating history as a hub for rum smuggling during the American Prohibition era.
Seafood lovers can look forward to a selection of Bahamian favourites, including fried fish, lobster, cracked conch, seafood cakes, seafood pizza, conch fritters and lobster spring rolls.
This year's festival will also spotlight the next generation of Grand Bahama's culinary talent, with junior chefs from Sir Jack Hayward High School, St. George's High School, Eight Mile Rock High School and Bishop Michael Eldon School preparing dishes live. For $15, guests can sample their culinary creations.
The celebration will also feature the Bootleggers Mixology Competition, live culinary demonstrations, a Visitors Mystery Basket Challenge and an exciting lineup of Bahamian entertainment. Performers include Lil Joe Cartwright & The Trouble Band, Phase 4 Band, Larry Johnson & The Island Vibes Band, Rycon Bahamas, Shine242 and Kirkland "KB" Bodie, along with dance performances and a Junkanoo rush by the West End Conquerors.
The festival takes place from 4pm to 10pm, offering an evening of food, music, history and authentic Bahamian culture in one of Grand Bahama's most historic communities.
