This week’s New Providence Restaurant Highlight takes us to The Cove at Atlantis, where a brand-new Thai dining experience, Ko Sa-Wan, is turning up the heat. While there are a few restaurants across the island that include Thai-inspired options on their menus, Ko Sa-Wan sets itself apart by focusing exclusively on Thai cuisine. The result is a vibrant, flavour-forward menu that offers something refreshingly different for those craving bold spices and aromatic dishes.
At Ko Sa-Wan, guests have the option to order from the à la carte menu or choose one of two thoughtfully curated set menus. If you opt for a set menu, be prepared to share—everyone at the table must choose the same one, as the dishes are served family-style. The set menus are a great way to sample a wide variety of vibrant and flavourful dishes, each bringing a little bit of that signature Thai heat. Don’t worry if you’re sensitive to spice—the heat is “Thai mild,” which means it packs a punch but remains approachable for most.
The restaurant is named Ko Sa-Wan, which translates to "Paradise Island" in Thai—a fitting name given its location and the lush, tropical flavours you’ll encounter. It’s a limited-time pop-up dining experience created by renowned Chef Ian Kittichai and will only be available until mid-August. So if you're curious, now’s the time to make a reservation.
For those going à la carte, we recommend starting with the Pad Thai Goong Makorn, a rich and satisfying lobster pad Thai that balances sweet, sour, and savoury perfectly. For dessert, the Khanom Dok Mali offers a delicate jasmine-infused finish to the meal. To drink, the My Thai cocktail is a refreshing tropical option, and for a non-alcoholic choice, the Thai Coffee is bold, smooth, and sweet.
Whether you’re a Thai food enthusiast or just looking for something new to try, Ko Sa-Wan brings a taste of Thailand to Paradise Island in a way that feels both authentic and elevated.
