The Bahamas Charter Yacht Show returned for its third edition from January 29 to February 2 and showcased the very best in luxury yachts and services. Designed exclusively for yacht brokers and industry professionals, the show provided an unparalleled platform to view over 50 motor yachts displayed across several marinas in Nassau and Paradise Island.
Kicking off on Wednesday, January 29, the event began with a welcome reception at The Pointe Marina, setting the tone for a week filled with networking, celebration, and exploration. From January 30 to February 1, the Vendor Village at Baystreet Marina offered attendees an opportunity to discover Bahamian and international yacht service providers as well as industry resources. Some of the exhibitors included AML Foods, Sysco Bahamas Food Services, The Bahamas Maritime Authority, Morley Realty, John Watling's Distillery, Pirate Republic Brewing Company, Yacht Services Bahamas, The Restaurant Supply Co., NUA, The Mersquad Yachting Services Bahamas, Windermere Yacht Services, RH Curry & Co. Ltd., the Ministry of Tourism, Palm Cay Marina and Beach Club, Nassau Cruise Port, Abaco Beach Resort, Seaplane Safaris, and Tropic Ocean Airways.
The event also featured several competitions that added an element of fun and skill-building to the week. The Best Tablescaping Competition invited yacht crews to showcase their creativity by designing stunning tablescapes, while the Best Cocktail Competition saw teams vie for the title of mixology masters. Additionally, a Chef’s Competition highlighted the culinary talents aboard the yachts.
In addition to the competitive events and yacht viewings, the show offered a series of happy hours and special gatherings for brokers and captains hosted by John Watling's Distillery, Pirate Republic Brewing Company, and Carnivale Bahamas. These events provided a relaxed environment for networking and fostering relationships within the industry. On February 1, the Awards Presentations at the Nassau Cruise Port served as the grand finale, where industry professionals celebrated the success of the event and recognized the achievements of the yacht crews.
On Sunday, February 2, the yacht crew enjoyed a well-deserved break with a beach party on Rose Island, hosted by platinum sponsor The Mersquad Yachting Services Bahamas. A Bahamian-owned company founded by Katie Storr, The Mersquad provides a range of services, from yacht rentals to VIP services and private beach setups. The beach party offered a day of relaxation and fun, with inflatables and games, shaded tents for lounging, and cocktails courtesy of John Watling’s Distillery. Guests also received giveaways courtesy of Kanoo.
The event was catered by Savour Bahamas, a VIP Jet Catering and Yacht Provisioning company led by Chef Marcella Evans. The spread featured delicious Bahamian beach party classics, including freshly grilled ribs and chicken, conch fritters filled with chunks of fresh conch, grilled corn with hot honey or garlic butter, gooey macaroni and cheese, and refreshing watermelon and feta shooters. The vibrant flavors, combined with the stunning setting, made for a perfect end to a memorable event.
