Michelle Williams delivered a joyful, genre-bending first-ever performance in The Bahamas at the Jon Batiste Jazz Club.

During her September 6 & 7 shows, Williams brought her diverse musical influences together in a set that celebrated her success with Destiny's Child, her solo career and her gospel foundation.

Prior to taking the stage, Poinciana Magazine contributor Nikia W. sat down with the international singer and actress, who promised a dynamic show that paid homage to her musical journey. She delivered with hits like "Girl," "Cater 2 U," "When Jesus Says Yes" and many more.

In our sit-down with Williams, she shared that she was excited to take the stage in The Bahamas and is enjoying this point in her career, where she can embrace the things that make her happy while still moving with wisdom and exploring opportunities that take her out of her comfort zone.

Her career has taken her around the world, from Broadway productions like "Death Becomes Her" to intimate settings where she can truly connect with her supporters.

"I'm thankful to be at a point in my career where I can have fun and do the things that I want to do. I wasn't always able to do that in the beginning ... I enjoy doing things and working on projects that aren't exactly like who I am or what I've always done." - Michelle Williams
