Sunday Brunch at The Farm: Where Farm-to-Table Meets Bahamian Hospitality

Tucked away on the northern end of mainland Eleuthera, just a short ferry ride from Harbour Island, lies a gem that redefines the meaning of Sunday Brunch. The Farm, the sister property to The Other Side, blends laid-back island charm with a thoughtful, elevated dining experience that celebrates the bounty of its lush surroundings. This is not your typical resort meal—this is brunch with heart.

The Farm lives up to its name with vibrant greenery and abundant produce grown right on the property. Surrounded by gardens and shaded by yellow elder trees, the setting feels more like a dear friend’s backyard than a resort dining venue. Yet there’s nothing casual about the attention to detail. The villas are tastefully decorated and entirely self-sufficient, and the on-site restaurant delivers impeccable farm-to-table cuisine, thoughtfully crafted using both freshly harvested vegetables and seafood sourced from Eleuthera’s own fishermen.

The Sunday Brunch at The Farm captures the essence of Bahamian warmth and hospitality. As guests arrive, shoes often come off and feet settle into the soft grass while cocktails are served and conversation flows freely. There’s something about the long, communal picnic table under the trees that instantly puts you at ease—it’s a space where strangers become friends over shared dishes and laughter lingers long after dessert.

On our recent visit, the menu was a tribute to both innovation and tradition. It began with a passion fruit margarita that set the tone—bright, citrusy, and just the right balance of sweet and tart. Starters included a spread of fresh salads and crusty, house-baked bread. The centerpiece of the meal was a beautifully executed olive oil–poached tuna that had been prepared over the course of three days, served alongside creamy coconut grits and Johnny cake. The finale was as comforting as it was refreshing: chocolate chip cookies paired with a cool grapefruit sorbet.

As General Manager Steven Cartwright explains, the vision behind the brunch is rooted in creating something both unique and deeply personal. “The Farm Brunch was designed as an elevated down-home experience where guests get to feel like they have joined in on a family homecoming table where reimagined Bahamian favorites like Fish and Grits, or Boiled Fish and Johnny Cake are prepared to highlight the simple beauty in authentic Bahamian living. The Brunch takes place in the garden on one long table where guests eat family style. Often guests sit as strangers and leave as friends, and it’s this aspect of Bahamian hospitality that we strive to reproduce each time.”

This sense of familial connection, paired with unforgettable flavors and surroundings, makes the brunch not just a meal but an experience. It’s the kind of thing that lingers in your memory like a favorite song—warm and welcoming.

The brunch is $150 per person and includes the full meal, wine, beer, a signature cocktail, and taxes and gratuity. Reservations are required, with only 60 guests welcomed each Sunday to preserve the intimate nature of the gathering. Diners can book by texting or calling The Farm concierge at 242-829-3345, and reservations can be made up to three months in advance.
