Baha Mar Announces Expanded 2025 Baha Mar Cup, Featuring the Addition of the First-Ever Star-Studded Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament

The Sixth-Annual Baha Mar Cup returns with four days of high-profile tennis action, clinics and insider access to world-renowned pros and A-list celebrities - all for a powerful cause benefiting Bahamian youth through The Baha Mar Resort Foundation and Mark Knowles Children’s Tennis Initiative

Expanding to four thrilling days, this year’s event will spotlight the inaugural Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament - an electrifying new feature pairing elite tennis professionals with internationally recognized celebrities in a dynamic and intimate format, providing guests with an unparalleled opportunity to witness and engage with sports legends and stars alike.  

Hosted by tennis icon John McEnroe and Bahamian tennis legend Mark Knowles, the 2025 Baha Mar Cup, promises to be the most immersive and star-powered edition yet, combining competitive tennis, exclusive clinics and exhibitions along with vibrant and engaging social experiences - all in support of the The Baha Mar Resort Foundation and the Mark Knowles Children’s Initiative, charities dedicated to enriching the Bahamian community and nurturing the next generation of tennis talent.

A full lineup of both tennis professionals and celebrities will be announced soon.  Previous tennis stars have included John McEnroe, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Lindsey Davenport, Andy Rodick, James Blake, Taylor Townsend, Milos Raonic, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, Victoria Azarenka, Mark Knowles, Jennifer Brady, Donna Vekic and Genie Bouchard. 

Highlights Across the Four-Day Festival Include:

• Thursday, Dec 11: Pro clinics for all skill levels throughout the day to prepare for the pro-am competition, followed by an exclusive welcome reception & cocktail party at Rosewood Baha Mar, where guests can mingle with tennis greats and celebrities while enjoying world-class cuisine and craft cocktails in a stunning oceanfront setting.

• Friday, Dec 12: The Pro-Am Tournament invites amateurs to square off in a competitive round-robin with tennis legends, followed by thrilling pro-versus-pro exhibitions featuring top singles and doubles stars. The evening features a spectacular culinary experience hosted by Marcus Samuelsson, where attendees can savor gourmet dishes and engaging conversations with weekend stars. 

• Saturday, Dec 13: The headline Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament — eight celebrities paired with eight tennis pros battle in an unforgettable showcase of skill and camaraderie. The excitement culminates in the luxurious Baha Mar Foundation Dinner & Cocktail Reception, featuring exquisite dining and networking opportunities with A-list guests.

• Sunday, Dec 14: Live Ball and other Tennis Clinics for players eager to hone their skills with pros, capped by the annual complimentary Kids Clinic offering local youth the chance to learn and play with visiting tennis stars.

Since its inception, the Baha Mar Cup has raised over $300,000 to bolster youth tennis programs and community initiatives across the islands.  The event aligns with the Baha Mar Resort Foundation’s pillars of Community, Culture and Conservation, reinforcing Baha Mar’s commitment to a resilient Bahamian future.
